ICAR-IARI, Division of Genetics, New Delhi, invites eligible candidates for walk-in interview for Project Associate I and Field Worker posts under a DBT-funded wheat genetics project. Temporary positions, interview on 27 October 2026.

Qualification: For Project Associate I: Master’s degree in Genetics/Plant Breeding/Genetics and Plant Breeding/Biotechnology with 4/5 years’ bachelor’s degree; or Master’s Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences/MVSC; or bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine. For 3-year bachelor’s degree holders, NET (UGC/CSIR/ICAR NET including lectureship or GATE or equivalent national level exam) is required. For Field Worker: Graduate degree in any discipline.

Eligibility: As per essential qualifications. Age limit: Maximum 35 years for Project Associate I, 50 years for Field Worker (relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST & women, 3 years for OBC).

Experience: Desirable for Project Associate I: Experience in molecular markers, field phenotyping, and handling of field crop. Desirable for Field Worker: Knowledge of working in lab, field, and glasshouse.

Salary / Pay Scale: Project Associate I: Rs. 31,000 + HRA per month (with NET/GATE/qualifying exam) or Rs. 25,000 + HRA per month (others). Field Worker: Rs. 18,000 + HRA per month.

Job Description

Walk-in interview for Project Associate I (1 post) and Field Worker (1 post) under the DBT-funded project 'Mapping and mobilization of leaf rust resistance genes from Indian landraces to broaden the genetic base for improvement of wheat varieties' at the Division of Genetics, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. Interview will be held on 27.10.2026 at 10:00 AM. Essential qualifications and desirable experience as per post. Age limits and relaxation as per norms. Candidates must bring filled application form, original documents, and self-attested photocopies for verification.
